FAD Art & Design student wins at the International Design Contest...

The only Indian to have achieved this feat…
Fashion Weeks…The Film Festival and now it’s the International Design contest by Corel Corporation, FAD International students are riding high. FAD International student Ankit Dembra’s work from the Art & Design Department recently won him a second place in the academic category. The work titled “Art of Typography” was achieved during his course at FAD and was displayed in Pune during the FAD Graduate Showcase.  Ankit graphically reproduced the face of Ernesto Che Quevera using 995 alphabets through his graphic design module on the Foundation Programme in Art & Design. The international design contest held by CorelDraw Corporation invited entries from across the world and Ankit Dembra is the only Indian to have won.

Says Ankit “though coming from an engineering background, I was always motivated by faculties at FAD to believe in my abilities and develop my individuality. Creative freedom combined with technical guidance at FAD helped me achieve this work. I have a lot more to learn and this is just the beginning.”

One of its kind international qualification in India, the Foundation in Art & Design at FAD International is aimed at providing a sound foundation with portfolio development for students wishing to either pursue art & design related education at some of the world’s leading design schools or to attain further clarity and understanding to choose the right field of creative education at a higher level in India. Students can pursue this alongside their 11th or any other degree they are currently pursuing thus saving them a year when moving to a higher level qualification next year. The foundation course enables students to gauge their creative aptitude as well as sharpens their creative thought process to allow them to make concrete future academic decisions. Students explore both 2D & 3D aspects of visual studies, develop visual research skills and are trained with an individual approach thus allowing students to develop a comprehensive portfolio further enabling them to progress onto courses such as Fashion Design, Car Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Animation, Fine Art & more at a degree level. Students in the final term specialize in several pathways depending on their personal interests and are guided through special individual projects to develop an individual approach and portfolio.

Design faculties from leading design universities such as IED – Italy, Coventry School of Art & Design, Nottingham Trent University, Cavendish College London, Manchester Metropolitan University, Middlesex University & more visit FAD International annually for guidance & evaluation of student portfolios for further progression to courses at both Indian and International Universities.

Apart from the foundation Programme, FAD International also honors One Year, Three Year UG & 1 Year PG Programmers by Cavendish College London in Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, Photography, Art & Design, Film Production and more at its international campus in Pune. Further, students also have an option of completing part of their qualifications in India and transferring credits to multiple universities in UK & Italy.
