1. What was your line of thought before joining the course at FAD?
FAD is one of the few academies in Pune which teaches modules related to fashion, art and design on an international level.
I joined Fad with an intension of doing a one month course but after meeting Mr Shivang Dhruva seeing his passion for fashion inspired me to do a one year Pg diploma course in fashion marketing and communication. The course helped me realize my area of interest. I am extremely grateful to FAD its because of my course I studied there that I am currently in Nottingham pursuing my masters in fashion marketing and communication. Fad was a stepping stone towards choosing my career.
2. Any fond memories at FAD?
A year of studying at fad gave me beautiful memories and experiences which I shall cherish forever.
Being a part of the styling shoots and innovative events at FAD was a good learning experience teamed with unlimited fun.
Full creative freedom and an environment filled with innovative individuals gave me the liberty to do what I wanted to do.
3. How did your career develop?
At the age of 17 my brother and me conceptualized a fashion apparel store called ‘Cupid’. My 3 years of work experience helped me realize what I wanted to do in the future. My course at FAD International gave me an insight into Public Relations and its scope and opportunities to take it up as a career and that’s when I took up another job at a resto-bar called High Spirits where I worked under Mr Khodu Irani in the PR and Marketing Department.
4. Who has inspired you?
My father started a textile store at a young age and being brought up in an environment of colorful fabrics and beautiful textures gave me an inspiration towards the field of fashion and I owe it all to my father who’s been my major inspiration.
5. Any alternative fields where students with similar qualifications can look into?
Fad concentrates their curriculum on fashion, art and design and it helped me gain a vast knowledge in PR, marketing, styling and communication. Which I can apply to numerous industries and that’s an advantage as you have broader career options.
6. Which path do you wish to tread 5 years down the line? (work with someone or start your own enterprise?)
5 years down the line I wish to see myself working for an established PR company dealing with fashion brands and events.
7. What has been your most interesting experience at work so far?
While I was working at high spirits organizing flea markets and managing creative events was the high light of my work experience.
High spirits gave me an opportunity to interact with creative artists and likeminded people with love for fashion, music and entertainment.
8. How was the transition from being a student at FAD to now, studying in International Universities?
FAD has given me a good international exposure which has helped me adapt to the kind of teaching and the current curriculum I am pursuing in UK.
9. Tell us a little bit about your work and your forte.
My forte lies in having a strong determination and passion towards my work.
10. Advise to young design professionals.
My advice will be to believe in yourself and you can achieve whatever you wish for as long as you are passionate about it. |
