1.What was your line of thought before joining the course at FAD?

I was a graduate and wanted to always develop my career in fashion. FAD offered me a postgraduate course for a year and also looked quite personalized where I could enhance my talent at my own pace with no pressure.

2. Any fond memories at FAD?

I have many good memories during my course at FAD. It was that one year of my life where I actually did all I wanted right from my career front to fun. EURO trip was one of my fondest memories with the entire FAD team and friends.

3. How did your career develop?

On completion of my course I started of immediately into making my career as a designer. I was fresh with talent and knowledge & any kind of break would slacken it. I did and do face certain loose threads, but I am ready to take the risk and I guess it’s totally worth it.

4. Who has inspired you?

No one in specific but, in fact a lot of people right from my family, friends and anyone who shows a little faith in me.

5. Any alternative fields where students with similar qualifications can look into?

The best thing about these creative fields is that they are all interlinked. You can work yourself well with most of them, without really being specifically qualified. It’s your creativity!

6. Which path do you wish to tread 5 years down the line? (work with someone or start    your own enterprise?)

I have already started my own enterprise a year ago.

7. What has been your most interesting experience at work so far?

My most interesting experience is and will be the learning experience every now and then when you start working. It’s very different to what one imagines and pictures it to be.

8. How was the transition from being a student to now, working in the professional field?

Different, difficult yet exciting. Professional life has a lot of added responsibilities than a student but at the end of the day it gives you a sense of fulfillment.

9. Tell us a little bit about your work, your label and your forte.

I run my own brand under the name ‘vriti’. I cater to women between the age group of 25-40. I work from my house itself and hold in exhibitions to promote my brand.

10. Advise to young design professionals.

When you start off professionally, start with a BANG! Don’t be afraid to take the risk to set your career, you might fail but begin again. And, don’t compare it pulls you down, remember you are different to others!
