How much should I feed my dog?
Human Grade food weighs twice as much as kibble. We suggest feeding your dog 1/2 cup to 3/4 cups twice a day for every 20-25lbs. Always consult your veterinarian regarding special diet restrictions or calorie intake.
How long will Waggin Meals Food last?
To make things simple, you store our Waggin Meals food just like you store yours. Your dog's meals should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed or frozen within 7 days.
Are there special steps I should take to transition my dog from our current food to Waggin Meals?
When transitioning from one type of dog food to another it is important to gradually introduce the new food to avoid an upset stomach which might be brought on by a sudden change in diet. We recommend blending some of the new food with the food you are currently using and gradually increasing the amount of the new food over a period of 7-10 days until fully transitioned to the new food. This gradual change will allow your dog to get used to new flavors and different types of ingredients. Be sure to contact your veterinarian for any questions regarding your dogs dietary restrictions.
Is homemade dog food balanced?
Just as with any diet, homemade dog food can be healthy or unhealthy, balanced or unbalanced. Our meals are highly nutritious meals with all their natural nutrients still intact. Such a diet leads to balance and great nutrition. Also, a point to consider: is every meal you eat 100% balanced? Generally, we know that in order to have a healthy diet for ourselves, we eat a wide range of nutritious foods. The same can be said for our dogs.
