DESIGN DEVELOPMENT TO DEVELOPING A BRAND FOR EMERGING TALENTS:

In conversation with Sahib & Sunayana, Co-Founders of the label essé.

Essé is an urban womenswear label launched in 2017 by Sahib Dang and Sunayana Sahni offering reinvented classics and luxury essentials. The duo started their journey in the world of design at NIFT New Delhi in 2010 which helped them to evolve their design and technical sensibilities.

After his graduation, Sahib gathered his expertise by working with the most well renowned designers in the country like Manish Arora, Shantanu & Nikhil and Pankaj and Nidhi. On the other hand, Sunayana chose to refine her skill set by pursuing her Masters in Footwear Design from London College of Fashion. Eventually, and inevitably, they both decided to culminate their design sensibilities to form essé.

Essé aims to explore the nuances of an individual’s personality through intimate detail, sartorial techniques and refined fabrications. Integral to the Essé culture is the combination of contrasting elements - fragility and strength, tradition and modernity, fluidity and severity.

They have dressed some of India’s leading ladies - Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Allia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and many more. They have been featured in prestigious Indian and International magazines like Vogue Italia, Vogue India, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Grazia, Cosmopolitan, HUF, Kaltblut, Volant and many more.
