Ainee Nizami Ahmedi, Editor at ELLE India, joined us online for a conversation on editorial vision and the future of fashion media.

Ainee walked students through what the title "Editor" actually involves day to day, far removed from the polished final product of a magazine or website, and into the editorial philosophy that decides which stories ELLE India chooses to tell in the first place. A recurring thread: ELLE India doesn't position itself as a luxury title in its own right, but as a bridge to luxury, the entry point through which readers first encounter and engage with the world of high fashion.

Ainee also touched on where AI fits into editorial work, drawing a clear line between the two: no place in the actual creative work, but real use in clearing out everything that gets in the way of it.
She closed with direct advice for a generation entering the industry now: start before you feel ready, and understand that fashion and lifestyle journalism, as a career, rewards curiosity over credentials.
