Cosmopolitan features FAD Student Brand Motife

UG Fashion Business Year 1 student Manav Sharma’s label, Motife, has been featured in Cosmopolitan’s spotlight on India’s most exciting new fashion voices.

Motife, the Mumbai-based label co-founded by FAD Year 1 student Manav Sharma, has been featured in Cosmopolitan's roundup of the brands and designers writing India's next fashion story. Manav, currently pursuing FAD's UG programme in Fashion Business, serves as the label's co-founder and creative director, since the brand's founding in 2022.
The feature places Motife within a wider movement of young Indian labels treating craftsmanship as a living, evolving practice rather than a fixed heritage to preserve. Motife's approach centres on hand embroidery and thoughtful construction, applied to wardrobe basics, the white shirt, cotton trousers, denim, rebuilt with an artisanal touch that gives the everyday a quieter kind of distinction.

This feature is a clear reflection of what a business-focused fashion education can bring to the table: understanding craft not just as a creative expression, but as something that needs to work as a real, sustainable business.
