An exclusive masterclass by Vivienne Westwood’s CEO launches a long-term industry partnership with FAD.



As part of the launch of a long-term collaboration with Vivienne Westwood, FAD welcomed Carlo D’Amario, CEO of Vivienne Westwood, for an exclusive masterclass delivered across campuses. The partnership will introduce industry-led projects spanning the Fashion Design, Business, Styling and Image Creation departments.



During the session, Carlo reflected on his journey through the global fashion industry, emphasising that fashion extends beyond aesthetics—it is rooted in culture, history and human expression. He encouraged students to approach the discipline with both creative depth and strategic awareness.



Drawing from his early career experiences working alongside Elio Fiorucci and Giorgio Armani, he shared insights on retail intelligence, brand authenticity and balancing artistic vision with commercial direction.



The discussion also explored the evolution and positioning of Vivienne Westwood, highlighting how its rebellious design philosophy, sustainability values and strong brand identity have shaped its global relevance.



Concluding with guidance on resilience and individuality, Carlo underscored the importance of developing a clear personal voice within an evolving industry. This collaboration marks a significant step in FAD’s continued integration of global industry leadership into its academic framework.
