FAD Alumna Rachel Pachuau lends her lens to Vogue India, shooting an editorial that reflects the creative voice FAD has helped shape.

Rachel Pachuau's editorial for Vogue India is what FAD's approach to fashion photography is built to produce: a graduate whose technical command is matched by a distinct point of view, shaped through continuous industry exposure and hands-on practice rather than the classroom alone.

The editorial itself is a study in fluidity. It challenges convention through reconstructed form and broken symmetry, capturing ensembles not as static objects but as living entities that shift with perspective and motion. Rachel's eye reinterprets traditional elements into a visual language that is unmistakably contemporary.

Across the series, the work moves through registers. A contorted pose in a vibrant floral ensemble becomes a study in abstraction, posture and fabric in conversation. A minimalist portrait, by contrast, holds still, its power drawn from restraint and a sculptural sense of ease. A final image bridges the two, contemporary styling set against traditional drapery, motion held in a single frame.

Together, the images make the case that fashion photography, at its best, is not documentation. It is authorship.
