FAD students explore the dynamics of luxury retail through an immersive visit to Galeries Lafayette Mumbai.



FAD continues to extend learning beyond the classroom through curated industry visits that offer real-time exposure to the fashion and luxury ecosystem. Students visited the newly opened Galeries Lafayette Mumbai, gaining firsthand insight into the workings of a global luxury retail space.



Led by the Deputy Retail Manager, the visit explored the store’s layout, brand mix and in-store exhibits, highlighting how strategic brand placement and visual merchandising shape consumer experience.


Students observed how distinct zones—from evening wear to ready-to-wear—are curated to create a seamless yet differentiated retail journey. A key takeaway was the role of sensory elements such as music and spatial design in enhancing storytelling and reinforcing brand identity within a luxury environment.
