FAD Talents dive into Jaipur's Opulence & Heritage

A Three Day Experience had FAD Students delve into the vibrant culture, unparalleled luxury & craftsmanship of the Pink City, as part of their course.



FAD students from Mumbai & Pune Campuses attended the Jaipur Experience Tour, accompanied by academic Ankita Brahmi  (HOD - PG Luxury & Fashion Management), where they visited luxury brands & cultural organizations.


DAY 1 OUTRO | AMARPALI MUSEUM | ANANTAYA



The visit commenced with OUTRO, a streetwear collective by FAD Alumni Akshita & Anulika Choudhury, hosting FADTalents at their multibrand store. The students were given an activity to curate looks using the collections and present their ensembles for feedback, fostering creativity and expression.



This was followed by a visit to the Amarpali Museum, where the students dove into a treasure trove of heritage, craftsmanship and vintage jewelry. The students were hosted by the Head Manager of the store who shared intriguing tales of each of the jewelry pieces.



The last stop for the day was at Anantaya wherein the students explored the realm of luxury home decor. Engaging in a fun activity with the Geetanjali Kasliwal, Founder & Designer of the brand, students shared their interpretations of the products, prompting the designer to unveil the rich narratives behind each creation.


 

DAY 2 JAIPUR RUGS | FARAK



The Jaipur Rugs visit began with live demonstrations at their factory that offered a glimpse into their meticulous process, highlighting the deep connection between artistry and tradition. Following this, students visited their store where the Store & Marketing Heads delved into the significance of store interiors in shaping a luxury brand's identity.



The next stop was a Block Printing Workshop with Farak, a streetwear brand in Jaipur. Students were taken through the intricate process of block printing by the founder Rishabh, from designing the blocks to the colorful printing on fabric. Each student had a personalized experience as they tried their hand at block printing, creating their own unique blocked printed scarf.


 

DAY 3 PRINCESS DIYA KUMARI FOUNDATION | PALACE ATELIER | RAFFLES



The Princess Diya Kumari Foundation hosted FADTalents in Jaipur, where the students learnt about the support provided by the Princess of Jaipur to women in craftsmanship. Nestled in the heart of Jaipur inside the City Palace, The students were delighted to meet the talented artisans and learn about the brand's commitment to women's empowerment, as emphasized by the Store Head Manager.



The visit to the Palace Atelier, under the patronage of the Royal family of Rajasthan, enlightened students on the historical significance of the store and the creative concept that sets them apart. The Store Manager shared the history of Jaipur intertwined with the narrative of the royal family, connecting the dots between the past and the present in the exquisite curation of products at Palace Atelier.



Lastly, at Raffles Jaipur, the Management Team shared the rich history of the establishment, while students explored the luxury setting of the space and their exquisite attention to detail in every corner. The Head Manager & Head Guest Coordinator unveiled the unique elements of every room where heritage intertwined with a subtle fusion of global interior design.

 

Industry visits are a vital component of course curriculum at FAD, and these tours inspire creativity, provide practical learning and valuable connections that are crucial for students aspiring to succeed in the fashion industry.
